For the CRCHUM conference taking place on May 26, 2017, Monsef Benkirane from the Institut de génétique humaine in France, will speak about recent discovery of his team related to HIV reservoir.

Abstract

Persistence of HIV reservoir in infected individuals under suppressive antiretroviral therapy is the major obstacle to achieve HIV cure. I will present our recent discovery that CD32a+ lymphocytes harbor the elusive HIV-1 reservoir. This finding may lead to insights that will facilitate the specific targeting and elimination of the viral reservoir.
