The challenges of managing the complex co-morbid conditions is relatively new for pediatricians and pediatric endocrinologists. The challenge is compounded by several social and psychological challenges that accompany type 2 diabetes in youth. We will review the current state of science with regards to prevent and management of type 2 diabetes and it’s complications. We will also examine the translational work conducted in Manitoba to address this issue.
