MATERNAL MORTALITY IN RURAL BANGLADESH AND BURKINA FASO ''MOM’S VAN'' TO THE RESCUE

A team led by Nazmul Alam, a postdoctoral fellow in the CRCHUM’s Global Health research theme, has been awarded a $100,000 grant through the Grand Challenges Canada’s Stars in Global Health program. His 18-month pilot project, '' Mom’s Van '', will evaluate the feasibility of using community-operated motorized transport to reduce maternal mortality due to untreated obstetric emergencies in rural Bangladesh and Burkina Faso.
